Radically Transformed Lives
at Harvest Assembly |
A relationship that makes a difference!
As God ministers to each of us deeply, we believe there will be
tangible evidence of that touch in the way we live our lives. In
other words, everyone around us should know that something has changed
in our life. We call that “radical transformation” –
the type of transformation that is not ordinary or common but has
profound impact on our life and the lives of those around us.
That radical transformation could be seen in an actual physical
healing of our body or an emotional healing that is evident to our
closest friends. It could be seen in the way we treat our parents,
spouse, or children. It could be evident in the strength of our
marriage and family or in the increased ethical practices of our
business dealings. Radical transformation could include very dramatic
changes in the way we use our time, our money, our talents and skills.
It also includes transformation in the unseen places of our lives
– the places only you know that have changed because God has
changed you!
The point is that we are constantly in the process of transformation
– becoming more like Christ.
Radical transformation is not only about serious changes in our
lives but also in the lives around us. We believe that God desires
us to be transformation-agents for our families, the small groups
we attend, our neighborhoods, community, country, and the world
in which we live.
Become a transformation agent!
At Harvest we encourage you to be part of the transformation process
by participating in the following:
Small Groups
A small group is two or more people meeting together for prayer,
study of God’s Word, and fellowship with a designated leader
who has a leader. Groups meet constantly and come in different “flavors”.
A list of current small groups and contact information can be found
behind the “Connecting” tab in this packet, at the church,
or on our website at www.harvestva.org.
Intercession
We believe that in order to see transformation in our lives and
our community we must take an offensive posture in spiritual warfare.
Several times each week we open the church for corporate prayer
and intercession that primarily focuses on others beyond the four
walls of Harvest. You are invited to participate anytime:
Prayer and intercession times
Sunday am7:30 – 8:30 am Sanctuary - Sunday am7:30
– 8:30 am Kidztown Trailer
Tuesday am5:00 – 6:00 am Sanctuary - Wednesday
pm7:00 – 8:00 pm House of Prayer
In addition, we offer two prayer environments where you can come
and pray on your own time, either alone or with a small group of
others:
The House of Prayer
A peaceful environment available 24 hours a day that easily facilitates
time for reflection as well as focused intercession. You may access
The House of Prayer, the octagonal building behind the main facility,
by picking up a key from the office.
The Whisper Room
A prophetic, creative environment that fosters a wide variety of
prayer expressions. The Whisper Room is located within the Student
Ministry modular (to the side of our main facility and closest to
Kempsville Road).
Open during daytime hours and also 24/7 during specific time periods.
Equipping Opportunities
The key to growing is regular feeding! At Harvest, we offer many
ways to be equipped and spiritually fed:
• Sunday Worship Messages
• Conferences and Seminars
• Small Group Teaching and One-on-One Mentorship Resources
in the Media Center and Family Resource Center Ministry Opportunities.
You don’t have to be perfect to serve. If that were the case,
none of us would be serving! In fact, it is well-known that when
you give to others, you yourself receive a great return. That is
why we encourage everyone who calls Harvest home to find a place
to serve.
Whether it is distributing food for the needy, teaching 4-year-olds,
mentoring a man who was recently released from prison, playing in
a worship band, volunteering in the office, or leading a small group,
it does not matter. Find a place to give yourself away in passion
and service.
Harvest can help you connect to a ministry that suits your passions
and giftings. A copy of current ministry opportunities is behind
the “Connections” tab in this packet, at the church,
or on our website. You will find ministry descriptions, commitment
requirements, any qualifications that are needed, and contact information
for that ministry’s leader.
