Vision/Purpose Statement
To touch the hurting and bring hope to the hopeless.
James 2:15-18 (NAS) If a brother or sister is without clothing
and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go
in peace, be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give
them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? Even so
faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. But someone
may well say, “You have faith and I have works; show me your
faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”

Who specifically does this ministry reach?
The residents of Woodbridge and Dominion Pines apartment communities.
How does this ministry's activity fit with the Purpose of Harvest
Assembly?
We are impacting our world for Jesus Christ by building bridges
through acts of love and compassion. We currently have one Ladies’
Woodbridge Cell group and one Men’s Woodbridge cell group
in which we are “making and building disciples.”
Who is involved in this ministry?
Ed Postlewait’s G12. Any and all church volunteers –
various ages. Royal Rangers and Missionettes. Some residents from
the apartment communities.
What is required for involvement in this ministry?
No special training – come with a heart to serve. No regularly
scheduled required meetings. We have weekly bread distribution on
Tuesday evenings. We do ministry outreaches once a month: dinners,
picnics, ballgames, movie nights, etc. Prior to these events, we
hang fliers on the apartment doors. We deliver “welcome baskets”
to new tenants and make “welcoming” phone calls. We
deliver Thanksgiving baskets to the apartments and serve a Thanksgiving
meal at the church for the residents. We serve in various capacities
during church-wide events, such as Harvest Fest, to ensure that
Woodbridge and Dominion Pines residents see familiar faces when
they attend. |
