Vision/Purpose Statement
The domestic violence ministry reaches out to women and children
in the Body of Christ who are being marginalized by abuse within
the home.
James 1:27 says, “Pure and undefiled religion before
God and the Father is this: to visit the orphans and widows in their
trouble…”
Women and orphans who have had the protective covering of a
husband and father ordained by God removed from them. This ministry,
in obedience to Jesus Christ, seeks to bring help and healing to
such women and children.

How does this ministry's activity fit with the Purpose of Harvest
Assembly?
This ministry will reach out to women in domestic violent situations
in three ways:
1. Physically: by helping them navigate the ‘system’
to access legal and financial aid, shelter and crisis intervention.
2. Spiritually: by helping them find the ultimate source
of help and healing in Jesus Christ through encounters and weekly
celebration services.
3.Emotionally: by assisting them in building relationships
and a support system within the cell community and by availing themselves
of other ministries within Harvest Assembly.
Who is involved in this ministry?
Women who have a heart to advocate for women and children affected
by domestic violence.
What is required for involvement in this ministry?
Women serving in this ministry will meet with the coordinator monthly
for continued training, prayer, and encouragement. Those currently
in the process of advocating for an abused woman will meet weekly
for debriefing. |
